Girls Just Want to Have Fun
International Women's Day is celebrated each year on March 8th, and this year the theme is #BeBoldForChange.
You can check out events in your neighbourhood by going to the International Women's Day website, and search – there are some 20 or so events listed there in and around Brisbane. Click here.

There are most likely events in your neighbour hood to celebrate, but if you can't find one locally, why not gather a few girlfriends and go for lunch or coffee and celebrate yourselves!
One event (sold out, sorry) is at the Gould Adams Community Centre at Kingston, where Access Community Service is celebrating. Access "has a deep conviction in the role empowered-women play in healthy communities and societies". The mission of Access is to support the thousands of new arrivals to Australia, and help them settle into the Australian way of life. You can read more about Access here.
The International Women's Day Fun Run is also popular – and online registrations are sold out, but you might like to go along to South Bank on Sunday March 5th, at around 6 am and support the Mater Chicks in Pink. More details here.
