Celebrate International Women's Day with the Canberra Labor Club!
On Thursday 11th March 2021, you are invited to get the gals together, glam up and attend the International Women's Day Dinner at Canberra Labor Club Belconnen.
Tickets are now on sale and all funds raised will support local charities, including Roundabout Canberra.
Dust off your party dress, slip on your heels and enjoy a 3-course dinner with drinks included, plus inspirational speakers, a question and panel discussion, great live entertainment and much more!
The International Women's Day Dinner is centred on the 2021 campaign theme #ChooseToChallenge.
A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day.
We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.
The event will be hosted by the wonderful Genevieve Jacobs the Group Editor for Region Media, Australia's fastest-growing digital news platform.
Inspirational guest speakers include Tara Cheyne, the Labor member for Ginninnderra (covering most of Belconnen) in the ACT Legislative Assembly; Ginger Gorman, an award-winning social justice journalist and author of the bestselling book, Troll Hunting; Sarah Watson, who served in several Intelligence Roles within the Australian Army including in Iraq in 2006/07 and is now a proud Ambassador for Soldier On; Hannah Andrevski, founder of Roundabout Canberra; and Nipuni (Nip) Wijewickrema, a passionate and driven young woman, trying to change the world one flower at a time.
Book your table or come along individually and let's talk about what we can do and choose to challenge and help forge a gender-equal world together.
Tickets are $78.00 per person and include a 3-course dinner and drinks throughout the evening, great live entertainment, and much more.
