Annual International Women's Day (IWD) will be celebrated again this year with events honouring the contributions and achievements of women, both locally and internationally.
All About Woman Satellite will be streamed live from Sydney Opera House on Sunday 4th of March 2018 at Darwin City Library. Join some great speakers discussing latest woman's issues. The program will start at 11.15am, and at the end of program, Amy Hetherington will host a local discussion session with the Darwin audience. You can book your ticket through this website.
Northern Institute, Charles Darwin University, will host International Women's Day 2018 Morning Tea on Thursday 8th of March 2018 from 9am to 12noon. This event is open to public and everyone welcomed. A gold coin donation and cupcake fundraiser will support event partners to buy breast pumps for returning to work mums. You can get into the spirit of International Women's Day at the special movie screening "Made in Dagenham" at Casuarina Library on Thursday 8th of March 2018. Door will be open at 6.15pm and movie will start at 6.30pm. Made in Dagenham is about the strike at Ford Dagenham car plant in 1968, when female workers walked out in protest against sexual discrimination.
You can also celebrate International Women's Day by participating in "Walk and Celebrations" on Saturday 10th of March 2018. There will be a short walk starting at 9.30am at State Square through the Darwin CBD. The walk will conclude at Parliament House with further celebration and free entertainment for everyone.
