International Women's Day (IWD) was first celebrated in 1911, over one hundred years ago and today it is still be celebrated around the globe. IWD is a day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women from all around the world. To help in marking the day, there will be a number of IWD events in Canberra.
The Mt Stromlo Observatory will be celebrating IWD with an evening of talks discussing Women in Space. There will be talks from Anna Moore, Director of the Advanced Instrumentation and Technology Centre and the ANU Institute for Space; Anntonette Dailey, Executive Director at the Australian Space Agency; and Lisa Kewley, Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence of All-SkyAstrophysics in 3D. Tell it Sisters IWD Showcase
Tuggeranong Arts Centre is celebrating IWD by hosting a comedy show with some of Australia's most hilarious female comedians. The show will be headlined by the funny Steph Tisdell, hosted by local comedy star Chris Ryan and feature Lauren Duong, Tanya Losanno and Laura Campbell! Tickets available here

Lululemon: Sweat and Connect
Lululemon will be celebrating IWD with Sweat and Connect! The event will be will a Sweat circuit run by local sweat leaders, then straight into Yoga by a local yogi and followed by network and nibbles!
