"I am an American Freelance writer living in Brisbane. I love traveling the world to experience new things. Check out my blog,"
I was invited to go to the International Tartan Festival, so, I decided to go. While I want to learn about different cultures, I did not plan on learning about Scottish culture. However, it was really interesting.

I did not know that all their dances had meaning, and I had the opportunity to learn about the history of their dances. One of the dances they do is around two swords.

The ladies jump and dance over the swords. Back in the day they would have dances the night before a battle. They would set the swords up and the ladies would dance. If the ladies hit your sword you would be injured in the battle, and if they completely knocked your sword over, you would be killed in battle. It was interesting to see how the Scottish community joined together. Even though they do not live in their home country, they still wanted everyone to know about their culture, background, and participate in celebrations.
