40 war ships congregate in peace
The International Fleet Review will be held in Sydney from 4th October 2013. Up to 40 war ships and 12 tall ships are being prepared for participation in this celebration which is a commemorative event to mark the centenary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy's Fleet into Sydney. Many events can be booked in advance.

Tall ships
Young Endevour and James Craig

100 years ago the fleet rendezvoused in Jervis Bay prior to entering Sydney Harbour, so it's fitting that the same routes are being planed for the centenary event. The largest congregation of warships of Eastern Australia will converge in Jervis Bay on the 2nd and 3rd October to conduct final preparations and briefings for the entry into Sydney Harbour.

This event is being held during the NSW October School holidays and Shoalhaven council are expectant of similar attendees to that of the 1988 First Fleet Re-enactment which attracted over 100 000 visitors to the Jervis Bay area.

Local tour operators are working in unison with the council to develop an event plan, which includes a fireworks display in Voyager Park, Huskisson. The firework display will welcome the fleet on the 2nd October.

It is expected that HMAS Creswell, the local Navy Base will be instrumental in many of the planned activities.

Accommodation in the Jervis Bay area includes guest houses, holiday homes and motels. All operators expect to be at capacity during this event, advance reservations can be made online.
