It's 100 hundred years since the Royal Australian Navy fleet first entered Sydney Harbour on 4th October 1913 led by the Battle Cruiser HMAS SYDNEY and, to celebrate the centenary of that event, more than 50 nations have been invited to send a warship or tall-ship to participate in an International Fleet Review from October 1st to 11th.

So far more than 60 ships, including as many as 20 tall-ships are scheduled to take part.

The spectacle will kick off on Thursday 3rd October with the tall-ships fleet planned to sail through Sydney Heads at 11 AM. At about the same time the fleet of international warships will be departing Jervis Bay, on the NSW south coast, bound for Sydney. They'll arrive on Friday 4th October and stage a Ceremonial Fleet Entry into the Harbour at approximately 10 AM accompanied by artillery salutes and military rotary and fixed-wing fly-pasts.

A Ceremonial Fleet Review will be staged on Sydney Harbour on Saturday 5th October between 11 AM and 2.30 PM, followed by various military demonstrations and a spectacular fireworks and lightshow over the harbour from 7.30 PM.

A huge and varied range of events is planned at locations in and around Sydney, including Open Days on participating vessels, before the tall-ships depart for Auckland on Thursday 10th October and the international warships a day later on Friday 11th October.

The International Fleet Review 2013 will undoubtedly be one of the most spectacular events seen on Sydney Harbour for many years, truly a once in a life-time experience and something not to be missed.
