The annual International Chinese Film Festival (ICFF) is one of the most important Chinese cultural events in Australia and will run from Saturday October 12 to Saturday October 19. During this time, a recently released Chinese film will be screened every evening at Event Cinemas Sydney (with two screened on the weekends).

The films included in the International Chinese Film Festival don't just come from mainland China; there are also some from Hong Kong and Taiwan. One of the aims of the festival is to introduce such films to to Australian audiences. It also seeks to broaden our understanding of Chinese film culture and encourage collaboration between Chinese film professionals and their counterparts in Australia.

A special black tie event will take place on the opening night of the festival (Saturday October 12). It will begin at 6.00pm with a red carpet and reception, and speeches will be given from 7.00pm. A screening of America Dreams In China will take place at 8.00pm. An after-party will then be held from 10.00pm at the Lucky Lounge at The Star .

Tickets to the International Chinese Film Festival cost $15.00 (single sessions), with discounts available for groups of ten or more. Details on the films that will be screened during the festival can be found here .
