Learn, create, make & taste

Whomever bakes the better batter, beats the best of the best at the biggest bake off battle in the cake world!

Are you the resident cake sculptress? The suburban legend of edible art? Super mum or owner of the best cake shop in town? Mark your calendar, grab your sparkly oven mitts and bring your A game. The battle of the icing will soon be upon us.

The 2018 International Cake Show Australia (ICSA) will be held at Brisbane Showgrounds Exhibition Building in Bowen Hills from Friday 18th May to Sunday 20th May in 2018. ICSA invites professional sugar sculptures, cake designers, bakers, chocolatiers and chefs to enter the kitchen and wow the world. Oh, and of course, you're invited too!

Have you considered entering the contemporary Cake with stylised flowers division in the Ultimate Australian Cake Decorating Competition at International Cake Show Australia? Flowers don't need to be botanically correct, they just need to have impact. We love this category, all you need to do is think modern! Buttercream is permitted for all categories unless the schedule states otherwise. Don't forget to pick up your competition schedule with all the info. Great prizes but you have to be in it to win it. Entries are open now! Considering the hours I spend drooling over #CAKEPORN, it is safe to say that the grand majority of people on this cake pop called earth LOVE all things cake.

You are encouraged learn, create and taste. Improve your cake game with more than 70 free demonstrations. There will be workshops, chocolate shows and 90 pop up shops, where you will find everything you need to create your next masterpiece.

Solo mission or family event, there is something for everyone. You can shop like a mad hatter on Sweet Market or head to the Chill Café to grab something to delish to eat.

Over three days, the battle of the best will be broken into 22 categories! Come along to view cake bosses, edible artists, pastry chefs, food personalities from around the world and not to mention home hobbyist decorators, who will not only wow you but share their skill and knowledge. This is your opportunity to participate in masterclasses with some of the best in the business.

Categories include Wedding Cake Artistry, Cupcake Bouquet Design, Sugar-Crafting, Celebration Cakes, Architectural Tribute Cake (in 2018 the theme is an iconic Australian Structure) Category, Geometric And Abstract Categories, Ultimate Cake Off Challenge, World's Best Cake Artist, Gravity Defying Creations and Stylised and Edible Flower Designs. There is also the Eddie Spence Tribute category (Sir Eddie Spence is the Royal Icing Master). There is also a Team Collaboration Category, which is bound to yield extraordinary results.

I am excited to see the two-day televised international cake-off challenge. This will feature six of the world's most celebrated cake artists including Dorothy Klerck, Paul Bradford, Verusca Walker, Timbo Sullivan, Margie Carter and Paul Delaney.

If that wasn't enough icing or cake, there will also be associated food and product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, food and product service agents and retailers will display the very latest and greatest in all that is sweet.
