14 February is International Book Giving Day in the alternative to St Valentine's universe. It is a day of giving back, giving books, giving time, giving joy and wonder of reading and knowledge.
You can do it. I know you can. Do not sit there and wait for flowers to go down in price. Go out, buy a book, donate a book or leave a book in the reception or waiting room.
Forget about the convenience of E-readers for a day. Remember to touch and feel of a new book, the wonder of what lies ahead in the story. Remember about kids and how much they need to learn, to read, to have our time and attention.

You can participate in Book Giving Day in many ways:
give a book to a friend or relative leave a book in a waiting room where you know kids can be stuck for a while (doctor's rooms, hospitals, etc) donate your time at Read-o-thone or Reading time at your local school or library donate a book to charity (it does not have to be some obscure or far away place. It can be your local Salvos or RSPCA)
