When is a home really finished? Minimalism is over and it's time to jazz up, colour up and change the look. The best place to start is at Interiorwise, where Daniel and Sandra Burckhardt will inspire you. After returning from Europe in 2014, they decided to open Interiorwise, a much-needed place for homeowners who wanted artistic items to reflect their own personality and unique style. Daniel has that unique talent for finding quirky one off pieces that reflect his French background.
The pieces aren't confined to one room of the home or one particular style. There are antiques, retro, traditional and other objects, both large and small, that are not only useful, but a feast for the eyes in the three shops in his Webbs St. Emporium.
The shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays - that's because Daniel is scouring the countryside for pieces to add character to your home that are handcrafted and have stood the test of time.
But there is more. Want help with 'ideas' for the home or have furniture that needs restoring or repainting? You chose the colour and leave the rest to the master.
You will need plenty of time to browse in all the shops. You might feel, as I did dear reader on my first visit, like Alice in Wonderland. Arriving as a new resident in this area and formally living in a Queenslander, the 'old foggy' look needs some razz-a –matazzing a la Interiorwise.
Interiorwise is a great place to find a gift with a difference, a lasting gift, large or small. Have a chat to Daniel before you make your choice. You will be surprised at the reasonable prices. Look for 'What's Hot' and 'Deal of the Week'. Remember the most important person in your life, Mum, there are wonderful ideas at Interiorwise for her special day coming up.
Daniel and Sandra are true to their motto: 'Imaginative interiors – wise prices'
