Many adults are well aware of the benefits of practicing mindfulness, the power of positive thinking and personal rewards that come from chasing your dreams.
Now imagine if these ideas were taught to children, particularly at a time when this kind of guidance is necessary?
That's what Annie Krempin and Marika Donkin decided to do when they launched Inspired Kids Australia, a nurturing community that fosters a child's inherent sense of wonderment, worthiness and wholeness, by creating a collection of online and in-person learning and sharing that are great for adults, as well as workshops for kids.
Primary school aged kids are able to take part in a play-based, 10-week workshop, where, for 50 minutes per session, kids are encouraged to enhance their positive thinking, mindfulness, creative problem solving skills, self-esteem and self-reliance. They will also be taught relaxation and meditation exercises.
Topics discussed with the kids during the workshop include:
Creative problem solving
Living your values
Conducted in a fun and safe environment, Annie and Marika, who together have experience in Children's Services and Paediatric Neuropsychologist, will run the workshops so that kids are given the tools they need to control their emotions, to find their inner selves, to develop self-acceptance and self-reliance, positive thinking and mindfulness. Props, games, role-play and brainstorming are also used in the workshops.
If you're a parent or guardian, Inspired Kids Australia is the perfect place to nurture your child's potential and help them retain their innate sense of play, creativity and inquisitive nature.
