There is no other way than to end a year and welcome in the new year with celebrations that will last a lifetime and this year the theme 'Inspire' is sure going to inspire with plenty of activities and things to see and do before the midnight fireworks.
There are a number of exciting events from Air Displays above Sydney Harbour, Fire Tug Water Display – where tonnes of water will blast into the skies, with a spray creating a striking image against the setting sun, Pylon Projections. The amazing Sydney Harbour Bridge like always is the dramatic focus of Sydney New Year's Eve, be intrigued as the Harbour Bridge lights up for this New Year's Eve...
The Acknowledgement of Country Ceremony is another event that will be occurring on the night; the ceremony reflects the city's respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage, the celebration will include dramatic red flares that are fired into the sky from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and fireworks barges.
There are plenty more of events occurring on the night and of course the highlight of them all is the midnight Fireworks!
A Family Fireworks Display will start from 9pm which will enable families with young children to enjoy the dramatic eight minute display. There will be popular music and the skies will be fired up with the amazing fireworks.
The Harbour of Light Parade will commence after the Family Fireworks Display. It is a captivating illuminated flotilla that glides across the waters like a colourful chimera...
The harbour has many excellent vantage points making it ideal for watching the fireworks, with Dawes Point, Bradfield Park, Sydney Opera House, and Lawn with a View being some of the vantage points of the night. For all vantage points click here.
