Looking for something fun to do at the end of the holidays? Why not try something completely different?

Is the Ukulele your instrument? Find out as Christopher Carr provides an introduction to playing the ukulele. Eight to twelve year olds are invited to attend Ink Pot Arts Creative Hub, upstairs in the Mt Barker Town Hall on Saturday the 24th January. This workshop runs from 9.30 to 10.10am and ukuleles are available to borrow.

Christopher is a past performer in punk and rock bands. He runs the Ukulele Trading Company, but most enjoys teaching children and adults to play the ukulele, sing and have fun making music.

Perhaps your child loves to adopt other roles. Jo-anne Sarre is offering an introduction to drama for seven to twelve year olds. Jo-anne is an actor, director, storyteller and co-founder of Ink Pot Theatre. Her workshop offers drama games, improvisation and word play.

The Come and Try session is 10.30 to 11.15am. Budding actors can continue drama classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4.00 to 5.00pm during term one. The drama class will work towards a performance in June.

Perhaps there is a dancer in the family? Kit Jenkin is offering young people the opportunity to learn co-ordination, basic dance steps, balance and stretching, using song, movement and rhythm. Kit's fun formula is designed for confidence building, fitness and enjoying the love of dance. Her class for primary students runs from 11.30 to 12.30pm. The music and movement keep flowing on Tuesdays from 4.30 to 5.30pm in term one.

Renowned Cirkidz co-founder - Adelaide's youth circus school and circus theatre troupe - and founder of KneeHIGH, Tony Hannan, is running an afternoon workshop in Circus skills. This workshop is open to seven to twelve year olds from 2.00 to 3.00pm. Circus is loads of infectious fun and a great way to develop co-ordination and confidence! Classes continue in term one on Fridays 4.00 to 5.00pm, with performance opportunities through the year.
