Cute little lunch or dinner spot
Stumbling upon a relatively new eatery along Blues Point Road, Indulgent Sage, with its inviting large open windows and sun streaming through, it was enough for me to stop and investigate.

Indulgent Sage

Indulgent Sage opened in June 2012 and was the Lavender Blue Cafe under previous owners. This eatery features a variety of shared dishes on its all-day dining menu, including slow-cooked lamb shanks, a range of seafood options including grilled or battered or whole fish, and BBQ beef short ribs. And an equally scrumptious specials board which will leave you indecisive figuring out which dishes to try.

Owner and chef Farzan Comtractor said its shared plates and entree-style plates were what he found the customer's were wanting. Indulgent Sage has a breakfast menu and an all-day menu available from about 11.45am daily.

My friends and I try the shrimp popcorn ($16) deep fried goodness with crunchy cos lettuce and spicy harrisa aioli, followed by Tiger prawns, Mexican sausage and chilli spaghetti ($20) and from the special's board, braised lamb pie with mushy green peas. ($19). They also have a great French champagne list, their wine list is mostly Australian with a couple from NZ and the odd red from Portugal.

Food at Indulgent Sage

We certainly had room for dessert and finished off our meal with a delightful and rich dark chocolate and orange fondant with vanilla bean ice-cream ($15). As we were sitting outside, we took in the view of the bridge and enjoyed the sunshine.

It does get busy at lunch so my advice is decide what you want early on and order as soon as you have decided.

Here's an interesting tidbit for you, in 2009, convicted murderer Anthony Perish was arrested at the cafe by undercover police, as featured in the popular Channel 9 TV series Underbelly: Badness.
