The Coromandel Community Centre is again hosting an 'Indulge Your Senses' event, but this time it has cultural theme and will expose participants to countries from around the world.Held on Sunday 26 October, 12– 4pm, this free event is a day to celebrate the diversity of our community, as well as to gain knowledge, insight and information about the world and its people. Experience visual and performing artists including Japanese drummers, Scottish pipes, wiggle your hips with the belly dance troupe and enjoy the unusual tones of Indonesian angklung musical instruments.
As well as feeling, hearing and seeing activities from around the world, your taste buds will be tempted with a range of traditional food.
Plus you can try your hand at kiwi craft, get messy at the sensory stations area, pat the native animals, and help make an over-sized piece of mandala art.
It is open for all to attend so come along ready to have some fun and celebrate the different cultures of our community.
The event program will also include the official launch of
Philip Hart's art work "The Valley" . With the aim of celebrating the environment we are lucky enough to live in, the form evokes the geography and the imagery, and draws the viewer closer to reveal details of the local history.
A lovely local touch in amongst the rest of the world.
Indulge your Senses is being held at the Coromandel Community Centre which is adjacent, Weymouth Oval, 442 Main Road, Coromandel Valley on Sunday 26 October from noon to 4pm.
