Value for money, a sunny courtyard, friendly service and some sensational apple pies is what lead me to write this review. is a spacious cafe that provides ample indoor and outdoor dining options. On a sunny morning, the outdoor courtyard is a pleasant suntrap for those who love to catch a few therapeutic rays of sunshine while sipping on their morning drink of choice.

The owner/operators, Lorraine and Dwayne, are a mother and son team serving a range of snacks as well as breakfast and lunch options, all made on the premises.

The drinks on offer include 'Altura' and 'Fixation' espresso coffee, bottomless filtered coffee, tea, iced chocolate, iced coffee, milk-shakes and thick-shakes. You also have the option of choosing something cold out of their drinks fridge. A nice little bonus here is that there is no extra charge for those who prefer soy milk in their hot drinks.

When it comes to the food options, you can make a choice from their cabinet or black board menu. Their cabinet is usually stocked with ample sweet and savoury options including their delicious apple pies, muffins, scones, brownies, giant cookies, paninis, salad rolls, savoury slabs, sausage rolls, salads and heat & eats-such as vegetarian pasta and chickpea curry.

Their blackboard menu includes a selection of salads, sandwiches and burgers. There really is something for everyone. This makes it ideal for families and groups who want to catch up over a meal through to smaller groups who just want to catch up for a relaxing coffee and a chat. If you're on your own, it's an ideal place to bring a book or magazine and relax in the sun with your drink or meal.

When the food arrives at your table, you really get a sense that it has been made and served with aroha (love). The food presentation is great, coupled with friendly and respectful service, it really does make for a pleasant dining experience.

My favourite sweet option is their apple pie. It comes with slices of fresh fruit and a dusting of icing sugar. They are made with a soft and crumbly sweet short pastry and filled with neat little pieces of cubed apple. If I hadn't been told, I would never have guessed that they are also dairy and egg free.

My favourite savoury option is the heat and eats. I've had the vegetarian pasta & the chickpea curry. They are served with a salad and two triangles of toast. At $6 per serve, this is excellent value for money. Lorraine told me that they want to provide meals that everyone can afford to enjoy. They are certainly achieving their goal.

Lorraine and Dwayne specialise in house-made snacks & meals for those who are looking to relax and savour their meal. If you're in a hurry, you can always duck in for a take-away option from their cabinet.

As well as catering to meat-eaters, also provide a range of vegan and vegetarian options throughout the week. They display the green and black 'V' sticker on their window. This sticker provides a quick and easy way to tell if eateries sell vegan food options. For those unfamiliar with this system, you can find out more here .
