Trampolining your way to exercise and fun
Do you remember the days when jumping on the bed would get you in trouble? Now jumping (on a trampoline) is sanctioned, accepted and even encouraged! If you do not have a backyard big enough to fit a trampoline, are too big for one or if you are a big kid at heart and fear that your neighbours will judge, why not have a go at one of Perth's indoor trampoline centres?
1) Bounce Inc
Located at 1371 Albany Highway, Cannington, Bounce Inc is a massive indoor trampoline park with 50 interconnected trampolines and giant air bags with slam dunk areas, wall-running and dodgeball courts. If your child has had a little too much sugar, bring them here with their massive amounts of energy and exercise and have fun in the process. Minimum age allowed is 3 years old. The whole family can get in on the action with a jumping family session and adults can always use their kids as an excuse for a long held hidden fantasy to jump and let go! Programs at Bounce Inc include Bounce Fit, Dodgeball league, flight academy (think circus-like tricks) and mini bounce. Visit their website on bounceinc.com.au/ for more information or call 1300 000 540.
Located at 1968 Beach Road Malaga, Flip Out started when the owner & CEO Brent Grundy was sitting in a play centre waiting for a kid's party to finish when he realised that half the people were full of bored parents or kids who were too big. He decided to create a venue where everyone can be entertained and feel energised at the same time. If you are a ninja wannabe, Flip Out has ninja classes where you can learn to twist, flip and move like a real ninja. Training achieves better co-ordination, balance and higher agility. Little ninjas class cost $15 per class or $12 per class for a term sign-up. If you are an adult and want to get in on the action, there are adult agility classes run where you too can learn how to flip and do tricks. Opening hours are from Monday to Sunday between 9 am and 8pm. Flip Out in Malaga is currently closed for refurbishment. If you live in the Northern suburbs, pop into Just Jump at 1/637 Wanneroo Rd, Waneroo which caters to both adults and kids alike. Jumping is not the only thing on the agenda – here you can play competitive trampoline basketball. This is only open to participants over 15 and you need a minimum of 3 people to play. Participation each week costs the team $20. You may even jump high enough to compete with Michael Jordan. If basketball is not for you, why not try dodgeball? Participants must be above 18 to play. Trampolining is also a great way to get fit. Adult fitness class or box fit classes are held on trampolines to improve cardio fitness, increase muscle tone and reduce stress. Adult fitness times are between 5pm to 8pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. Visit their website justjumpwa.com.au/ for the schedule or you can phone them on 08 9306 3567.
