[b]1. INDONESIAN SATAY FESTIVAL**
Do you like satay and satay related products? Or do you simply like Indonesian food and culture?
Either way, the Satay Festival is one that is a "winner", and always very popular as it is authentic and has a lot to offer.
The Indonesian Satay Festival, 2018 is presented by The Indonesian Society of Victoria, PERWIRA Incorporated -Perhimpunan Warga Indonesia di Victoria and The Indonesian Food and Trade Festival.
PERWIRA is The Indonesian Society of Victoria, and it was established in October 1981 in Melbourne. PERWIRA is a social and a not-for-profit organisation of Indonesian nationals, and also an incorporated society based on the five principles of PANCASILA, which are established for the purpose of:
Promoting unity and harmonious relations within the Indonesian community in Victoria
Fostering the physical and spiritual welfare of members of the Indonesian community in Victoria
Providing liaison between the Indonesian community in Victoria and the Indonesian diplomatic representatives in Australia
Fostering and promoting the Indonesian heritage within the Indonesian community in Victoria
Promoting knowledge and understanding of the Indonesian culture within the society in Victoria
The Satay Festival is held annually on the first Saturday of May and presents Indonesian satay from different regions of Indonesia plus traditional dance performances. This event promises to be a tremendous day for those foodies who like satay (or peanut butter based) foods, as well as general Indonesian food and dance!
It will be a "celebration of diversity in harmony" and held on Saturday 12th May 2018 from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm at the Box Hill Town Hall, 379-397 Whitehorse Rd, Box Hill.
This festival will reflect the festive celebration of Indonesian diversity of ethnicities, arts, cultures, culinary as well as tourism. There will be live entertainment and traditional Indonesian dances, music performances, Indonesian foods and drinks available for sale.
There will also be business and trade services and an exhibition of Indonesian tourism - so if you are thinking of visiting Indonesia, then this is the place to go to get information from those "in the know".
One of the sponsors of this festival will be SIMPLY SOY, who are producers of fine soy products.
