I have found my new favourite cafe to take my kids to. It's , or 'INC Cafe', in North Brighton. As someone who has active will-not-sit-still kids, I look for places that I can safely take them to but still enjoy our time together. INC Cafe offers me this opportunity.

Located off the main streets in North Brighton on Jack Fox Drive, past the luxurious-looking seafront apartments, is a surprisingly large building with a bright yellow sign. Managed and operated as a Minda social enterprise, every purchase you make in the cafe is funnelled straight back into the services that support people living with a disability. If that wasn't great enough on its own, the place is enormous and the food and drink is top-notch too.

I was pleasantly surprised to find ample seating - and I mean ample seating - both inside and outside of the cafe. There were long tables, window benches, couches and intimate tables for two. If you are bringing a pram or a wheelchair or anything that assists in mobility you won't have any trouble coming into the cafe as there is so much space to walk around or manoeuvre in and the doors are even automatic!

The staff were friendly and catered to our needs before I had even asked for anything and I wasn't worried about letting my 2 year old wander a little bit, sit on the couches and attempt to cut his own croissant. The coffee was great (I ordered mine with almond milk, but given the mission of the cafe you could have just about any sort of dietary need met) and my little one will tell you how great the ham in the croissant was! There was other savoury options in the front fridge as well as sweets, but there is also a menu that you can order things like wedges or dumplings and a lunch specials board is available too. The prices are what you would expect for any cafe, if not a little more reasonable.

The parking is right next to the cafe too, so if walking a long distance from your car is an issue you needn't worry about that here, and if you're riding there are places for your bike too. If you are walking though and you're bringing your four-legged pal, there's a water bowl ready and waiting with the outdoor seating and heaps of grass if they need a run around (perfect for kids to run off that doughnut if need be too!). You could even amble on over to the beach.

is also available for hire as a function centre and they can cater to your next "meeting, celebration, launch or networking event...from a Breakfast, Lunch, High-Tea, Cocktail Event or Ala carte dinner" and packages can be discussed with management depending on your budget and number needs. You can read more about these options on their website.

If you're feeling like supporting a great social enterprise that both nurtures people's talents and creates jobs for any ability, then pop on down to INC Cafe in North Brighton and bring the whole family. The coffee and the community will be absolutely worth it.
