Brisbane supports Asian Pacific region games
Right now, throughout Brisbane, the Brisbane City Council is the proud and major sponsor of the INAS Global Games 2019. More than one thousand athletes are participating in the world's largest sporting event for elite athletes and intellectual impairment.

This event began on Saturday 12th October and is running until Saturday 19th October 2019. It is an event that is held every four years and is inclusive of people from different cultures coming together as one, as well as focusing on changing other's perspective of people with intellectual disabilities.

Although the Opening ceremony has already passed, you still have time to be part of the Closing ceremony, which will be held at the Queensland State Netball Centre in Nathan. Sports included in this year's event are

Athletics (running, jumping, throwing and walking)
Cycling (road and track)
Futsal (Indoor soccer)
Rowing (Inside and on water)
Table Tennis

There will also be two demonstration sports included this year; that is AFL and Netball. Tickets are still available through Ticketek, so it is not too late to grab a good seat at one of your favourite sports games. The games are being held in Sleeman Sports Complex Chandler, QLD Tennis Centre, Tennyson, Hibiscus Stadium, Upper Mt Gravatt, Queensland State Athletics Centre, Nathan and Brisbane Table Tennis Centre, Windsor.

This is the first time the games have been held in the Asian Pacific Region and Brisbane is honoured to be chosen as Brisbane prides itself as a city that is accessible and where everyone can feel they belong.
