Artist in Residence Aldona Kmieć who has been invited to be an Artist-in-Residence with BRMC - Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council, (a Ballarat based not for profit organisation) has responded with a moving and respectful collection that reflects what it takes to heal after suffering and distress from institutional abuse, suicide and shattered lives across the Ballarat community.
Born and raised in communist Poland, Aldona Kmieć migrated to the UK in 2004 and to Australia in 2009. She lives and works between Ballarat and East Gippsland.
The Ballarat International Foto Biennale was founded in 2005 and attracts significant International and Australian photographers as one of Australia's pre-eminent photographic festivals. It is a not-for-profit event that immerses the historic town of Ballarat in photographic art.
