Dorothy Coleman was one of Brisbane's leading female photographers running her successful studio in the Brisbane CBD from 1936 – 1960.



Discover her sought-after portraits on a tour with Sandy Barrie, a renowned Brisbane collector whose collection houses more than 55,000 negatives from the Dorothy Coleman Studio. Sandy is joined by Marcel Safier, owner of one of Australia's largest portrait photography collections.

Dorothy Coleman (1899-1984) was a photographer and painter, and Brisbane's leading society photographer during the '30s, '40s and '50s. She shot photographs of soldiers, balls, beauty quests, theatre productions and weddings.
