Velour and claws are out at the Pooch Name Day party
The Real Improvisers Of Melbourne (R.I.O.M.) are back and 'biatchy' as ever, with their show 'Improvised Real Housewives' at Club Voltaire, for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Book your tickets here. See more here.
Just when you thought it was safe to trash your velour tracksuit, the 'Real Housewives' are back to terrorise us with their First World Problems and grammatical failures, all in the name of botox and glamour. Head to Club Voltaire, submit your ideas, grab a drink and watch your idea of drama unfold on stage. Wear your velour tracksuit if you dare!
Last night, the audience invited the 'Real Housewives' (i.e. Labrador, Lemon, Mary, Doctor Cathy and Dena) to a Pooch's Name Day Party. Dena (aka Reeni) suspected Labrador the puppy school trainer gossiped about her 'pooni' botox treatments.
Distressed, she turns to beloved Doctor Cathy (aka Alex) – the recently published puppy doctor entrepreneur for advice. Then we met Mary (aka Luca) from Toorak, who is dating a man from Footscray, and Lemon (aka Stephanie) who takes sh*t from no one. Dena meets with Lemon over champers to discuss her distress over organising her Pooch's name day party and her botox gossip saga.
Meanwhile, Doctor Cathy and Labrador catch up to continue gossiping and kissing. Dena and Lemon hatch a plan to take every one horse riding at her ranch to bring the crew of friends back together. However, no one can remember anyone's name – especially Mary's.
But Mary is forgiving, to the point of servility, and eventually, they all name the pooch, so they can just keep on drinking.
If you need a night of trash, where you just drink and laugh, then the Real Improvisers of Melbourne are awesome, taking on challenges from the audience, which makes every show different. Why not see all five shows?
Club Voltaire is a comfy space to enjoy comedy, located between Errol and Leveson Streets in North Melbourne. It's easy to find parking, or catch the 57 tram and there are lots of eating options and great comedy shows going on at nearby venues.
Come and meet the 'Real Housewives' and make a night of it!
