Lights! Camera! Improvise! Impro Melbourne is proudly presenting the smash-hit 2018 Montreal Improv Festival favourite, At the Movies, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival!
Get ready to enjoy a hilarious romp through B-movie heaven with the extraordinary Impro Melbourne cast!
Here's how it works!
Each night, director Sarah Kinsella presents the audience with the titles of two real-life B movies. Having chosen which of the movies they'd like to see the cast have fun with, the audience then settles down with the actors to watch the first five minutes of the film.
At the five minute mark, the screening is halted, the lights come up, and the players improvise the rest of the movie, right up to its big, cheesy conclusion, complete with 'live sound effects' being created by the improvisors.
What's more is the actors have not seen the films and have absolutely no idea how the real plots unfold! Instead, they will have to rely on their unparalleled talent for storytelling and sharply honed comedic skills! The result is guaranteed to have movie nerds, comedy freaks and die-hard impro fans returning again and again!
At the Movies is also family-friendly, making it great school holiday entertainment for teens this April!
Tickets are now on sale - choose from 8 performances from 29 March to 20 April (Friday and Saturday only at 11pm) at Portico Room, Melbourne Town Hall. Secure your tickets today at www.comedyfestival.com.au, grab your popcorn and hunker down for a rare red carpet treat!
