The Perth Cultural Centre and the On William Collective are about to celebrate Christmas in their own unique way and we're all invited. Keep Friday 14 December free for an evening of delicious food and unique shopping opportunities among the lights and music of the
Illuminites Festival of Christmas .
[SECTION]Night Markets[/SECTION]
There will be shopping opportunities galore with a night market offering locally made art, craft and fashion, making it the perfect place to find a special gift. I'll be checking out
Funkydory's handmade clocks and visiting
A Story Of for a beautiful Fair Trade Thai bird necklace.
The youngsters on my list might like something from
The Tiny Little Girl or a colourful puzzle from Alphabet Jigsaws. With more than
50 stalls featuring vintage clothing, books and comics, stationery, jewellery and more you're sure to find something for everyone.
[SECTION]Food[/SECTION]
Shopping makes me hungry but fortunately there are some great choices for a meal.
Snags and Sons will be offering gourmet sausages; La Cucaracha's taco cart will make an appearance along with Takoyaki Japanese savouries,
Red Hot Spatula'a Asian fusion and others will ensure that no one goes hungry.
Dessert…hmmm…maybe something yummy from
Delish Ice or a cool drink from Little Willy's Lemonade Stand, and of course the restaurants and cafes of Northbridge are only a short distance away.
[SECTION]Entertainment[/SECTION]
The Wetlands stage will feature plenty of live local music including Christmas carols with a "cultural centre twist", or watch Magic Matt's performance on the Cultural Centre big screen and then enjoy some animated Christmas fun. Best of all, follow the lights to the centrepiece of the
Festival , a six-metre high walk-through snowdome.
