Event:
Light up your weekend
In Winter there's a little less warmth and light than we're used to so the 2016 RE/MAX Advantage Illuminations Festival could be just the thing to dispel all that Wintry gloom. This festival will be held at the Wynnum Manly foreshore on Saturday 18th June from 3.00pm until 8.00pm promising a host of brilliant entertainment options sure to enchant the whole family.

It's an evening celebrating light with a magical, colourful display of lanterns in the Wynnum Wading Pool, illuminated standup paddleboard riders also at the pool and the Wynnum Manly foreshore will host illumination displays, stilt walkers and fire twirlers. At dusk the Lantern Parade will take place along the Bay, culminating in the spectacular finale fireworks display over Moreton Bay.

Throughout the afternoon and evening there's plenty of fun things to see and do. Ranger Stacey will MC and there will be musical entertainment, amusement rides for the kids and over 90 twilight market stalls to browse through and enjoy including food and drink vendors. From 5:30pm 8:00pm the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon will be on display.

Getting There:

Wynnum is approximately 15 kilometres from Brisbane CBD, around 30 minutes by car. There is plenty of on-street parking around Wynnum/Manly, however as the festival is very popular it may be a good idea to come early or consider public transport options. See Translink for help in planning your journey.

Visitors to the area may find Tourism and Events Queensland's apps useful for traveller's information and tips.

For all the latest details and more photos see the festival's website and Facebook page.

I hope it does not rain. It has been forecast that the weather s not going to be good that day.
I am looking forward to this event.
