In celebration of
National Science Week, an interactive and participatory copper processing demonstration will be held at the Moonta Mines Musuem from Wednesday the 17th to Sunday the 21st of August 2022. During the demonstration, a geochemist will introduce you to copper and the process of cementation. This method was historically used to extract copper from its ores. It will be a treat as the old school room is set up for the demonstration. There will also be a visual display of the process onsite.
The hour-long demonstration is free, however, bookings are essential and can be made online via their
website. You'll be able to choose from one of two sessions per day at either 10am or 2pm. Moonta Mines Musuem is located on Verran Terrace in Moonta Mines approximately 160 kilometres from Adelaide.
