This is an enchanting festival of peace followed by firework
This function is held annually in May and ILLUMIN8 is a two-day event that celebrates peace and harmony inspired by Buddha's life. The festival commemorates the birth, enlightenment and dying of Buddha. Why not go down to Bendigo's impressive Buddhist structure, The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion (which also happens to the largest stupa in the southern hemisphere) in May. The annual appreciation for Buddha and his life, known as Illumin8, will take place here.

ILLUMIN8 is a family-friendly event which celebrates both peace and harmony through different light installations, multicultural performances, food and market stalls, family entertainment and a spectacular animated light and fireworks show on The Great Stupa.

Would you like to be a bit more mindful this year or perhaps get a bit more spiritual? If so then make your way to this year's impressive Buddhist structure, The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion.

It will be held on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th May 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday and 10- am to 8 pm on Saturday. You can buy your tickets from this link and children under 5 are free. It will be on at The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, 25 Sandhurst Town Road, Myers Flat.

On Friday and Saturday nights, view an incredible animated light projection on The Great Stupa. This will tell the story of Buddha's life and finish off with the amazing display of fireworks.

There will be different activities right throughout the weekend and you will be able to join in all the experiences the festival has to offer.

Wander the Peace Park and interact with different light sculptures
See the amazing on-stage and roaming performances
Take a selfie with the Stupa
Have delicious vegetarian and vegan food
Join in on activities with the children in the family zone
Look through market stalls.
