With views so breathtaking, it is the ultimate day out
Being one of the only four steel canopy walks in the world (they are all here in Australia!) Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk is certainly one of a kind experience. Providing outstanding views of valleys, beaches and oceans- it is undoubtedly a walk with a difference.

View of the steel canopy you walk on...

This award winning walk is one of Australia's premier walk experiences. With a gentle 1.5km return walk, being 710 metres above sea level, and the Knights Tower raised nearly fifty metres from the forest floor this walk will definitely get your heart pumping and you will be left awe-struck with the superlative views from the forest floor into the canopy and out to the spectacular Ocean.

The hauntingly beautiful ocean and beach views from the steel canopy treetop walk...

The canopy walk is five hundred metres long with an average height of 25 metres and the walk is located on forty acres of private land.

It is an absolute delightful walk, as the path meanders through bushland with the aromas and sounds of the forest. All the pathways are well maintained and surrounded with the dense bushland.

One of the picnic spots...

The walk is suitable for all ages and fitness levels; however, the stairs at the Knights Tower are slightly steep and the walk takes approximately 1 hour to complete. We were here for around three hours as we stopped for photographs along the forest walk and the views from the Tree Top Walk were breathtakingly mysterious, as it was an overcast day...

Another view 'through the trees'...

For all the early risers there is a unique dawn rainforest experience walk, where you witness the sunrise. It is on offer on the second Saturday of every month, the Treetop Walk lets you take advantage of the beautiful light that the sun casts over the landscape as it rises. This walk is guided and also offers a hot breakfast at the cafe.

For more information on the walk check the website.

For the perfect weekend day trip this is truly a walk to be remembered for a very long time!

Illawarra Treetop Walk is located within two hours of Sydney and Canberra in the picturesque Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

There is plenty free parking and a cafe on site.

If you want to do the fly tree top walk, look it up 1st and get the correct address or you won't find it like me. The saved $25 will pay for some of the petrol I spose
