It's the kind of birthday party that you wish you had as a kid!

Partying way past their bedtime, we saw Amy Stuart mastering the art of facial expressions,Tommy Matthewman nailing the role of being a cheeky boy, who just wanted to enjoy his doughnut in peace, and Felicia Lannan, who was not having a good birthday and hilariously demonstrated her dismay at it all. It was a birthday party that was hilariously not going to plan and we, in the audience, were having a ball of a time, as we watched the beautiful chaos before us unfold in its most entertaining form.

Bringing the silly and playful antics into a birthday gone haphazard, the trio from Madhouse Circus engaged their audiences in just under an hour of impressive acrobatics, stunning balancing acts, and unreal agility through their abilities to throw each other across the room and then base themselves to carry the other two on their shoulders. By injecting their exceptional circus style skills in between the chaos and tantrum fits, we are given a performance that is highly representative of Australian circus at its peak - complete with an Aussie soundtrack to back it up!

There isn't much (or any) dialogue that makes an appearance during the show, but it doesn't matter, because in this case, actions really do speak louder than words. While they may be classic circus acts, there is a signature original twist that is added to the hula hooping, the giant German wheel-ing, and the acrobatics that both leaves us in stitches and is also visually striking.

Given how this trio comes together from three different states across Australia, the level of circusy cohesiveness is strong, spectacular, and worthy to be recognized for the synchronous movement that encapsulates the vibe of this thoroughly fun, energetic, and feel-good show that appeals to adults and kids alike.

& I'll Cry If I Want To will be performing at The Tandanya Theatre on Grenfell Street till March 3, as part of the Adelaide Fringe. Book your tix here .
