A contemporary take on traditional Italian cuisine
Il Posto (translates to 'The Place') brings to Paddington a contemporary take on traditional Italian cuisine. The restaurant delivers an open alfresco dining style, which reflects on their menu and presentation.
The menu includes a large range of pizzas, with a more refined choice of pasta, risotto and mains. It made me particularly happy that they offer gluten free pasta and risotto, as well as vegetarian options. Choosing instantly, the twice cooked duck and porcini mushroom ragu, fresh parsley, thyme pasta and saltimbocca (to share). The flavours were complex, tasty and refined, leaving us satisfied and ready to bring on dessert.
For dessert we shared a beautiful home made chocolate and vanilla pannacotta with a berry compote, yum. The pannacotta was creamy and silky, the perfect way to end the night.
Il Posto is the perfect location for a romantic dinner, a catch up with friends or a location for your next birthday celebration. Each table is assigned to a different staff member, so they get to know you and cater to your personal needs.
Coming from an Italian family, I can happily say that I would recommend Il Posto to someone looking for a fresh, flavoursome Italian meal.
Oh and if you're around in the morning they also have Il Posto Fish Cafe, located on the bottom level of Paddington Central. Yum.
So let's eat. Buon appetite.
