Traveling by public transport can be intimidating if you don't know what you're doing. However, I seem to be the 'go to' person for directions to just about anything; where the nearest toilets are located is the most frequently asked question. I also love going to IKEA so I thought I would put those two things together.
Now, the most important part of giving directions is the starting point. I find, for CBD travel, Southern Cross tends to be the best point of origin. From Southern Cross Station, you will need to walk down Spencer Street until you get to the intersection of Spencer Street and Collins Street, if you can see the Krispy Kreme doughnuts store leer temptingly at you, you're in the right place.
The tram needed to get to IKEA (Richmond) is tram 109, stop number 24 (you can also get off at stop number 25). If you get off at stop 24, you can turn to the cross the road at the crossing and keep walking straight until you find the Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre entrance. If you decide to get off at stop 25, which is the most common option, you'll have to walk around the car-park and walk through the loading dock there to get to IKEA
