But did you know that IKEA Rhodes has a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as delicious desserts? My family wandered IKEA in search of stackable shelving. There were many colours to admire and lots of shelves to measure for a good fit in a corner of a room.
It's surprising how shopping for furniture can leave one famished. It was now 6:00 pm and Ikea's restaurant beckoned. At this time of night, it was surprisingly quiet. The Ikea restaurant is not a two hat, nor a one hat, restaurant. Like their furniture, the food is functional for hungry shoppers and it is very cheap. There were a number of choices. The salmon looked appetising, as did the fish & chips. Two of us decided on the Surf & Turf which looked promising yet when presented to us showed that the 'Surf' only brought in two prawns stuck on top of a steak weighed down with chips. Next the Chicken Parmigiana was ordered. Then the Meatball dish, all 15 of them, in a light gravy.
The meals were cheap and we were hungry. The two highlights, though, were the two desserts which we shared. The Almond Chocolate Cake and the Frangipani Tart were very tasty, a satisfying end to our meal and shopping fling.
IKEA Rhodes is located within the Rhodes Shopping Centre and there is plenty of parking.
