Before I visited IKEA, I didn't understand all the fuss over it. I thought it was just like any other furniture store. During a lazy Tuesday though, my boyfriend convinced me to accompany him on a day out to the store and I have to admit that I was thoroughly shocked by how much I enjoyed my time there.

The store is MASSIVE. If you're not a fan of walking or perhaps are unable to walk large distances, I would not recommend that you go to IKEA. The building itself is divided into two floors. The second floor hosts the showrooms, restaurant and children's play area (yes, you can leave your children there whilst you browse). The first floor is the "warehouse" which is where you purchase all the accessories (kitchen timers, towels etc) that you see in the showrooms.

The showrooms are spectacular! They put their products into "real-life scenarios" to show the buyer how it may look in their home and to also give some inspiration for designing the interior of your home! We had a great time debating which kitchens and bathrooms would suit our house best and which furniture we would have in our bedroom.

The restaurant is like nothing I have experienced before. Everything is ridiculously cheap (six dollar meatballs and four dollar wraps) and of decent quality. You are served cafeteria style; imagine the lunch scenes of every American high-school based movie ever and you've got the right idea. On top of this, the cafeteria is extremely spacious.

Overall IKEA is a fun experience for people either looking to furnish their homes or people who are just looking for something to do!
