Ignite SA is an exciting new initiative, set to build foundations for smart communities using South Australia's gigabit speed networks. It brings together local government, research, business, developers and entrepreneurs and looks to develop next-generation applications for economic, social and community benefit.

Partnering with the South Australian Museum and the GigCity initiative, Ignite SA is hosting the Ignite SA Gigabit Challenge: Preserve . This challenge is designed to find a solution to the Museum's problem of only being able to show 10% of their massive Aboriginal culture collection, which comprises 30,000 individual artefacts at any one time. The Museum is looking for a solution that tells a story about Aboriginal culture and connection to country and utilises Adelaide's GigCity infrastructure to do it.



If you are a developer, entrepreneur, student, hacker, maker or simply have a creative mind, you are invited to the on Wednesday 2 May 2018 at 10 am. This event will provide further information on the Museum's collection and how you can it into the digital age.

The event will provide an opportunity for you to form a team and connect with others who are like-minded as a precursor to developing an application to enter the Challenge. Applications must be complete and submitted by 11.59 pm ACDT on Sunday 1 July 2018.



At the briefing, you will meet AusOcean Found and former Engineering Director of Google ANZ, Alan Noble and go into the draw to win an iPhone 8, courtesy of Optus.

The successful applicants will receive $20,000 towards development of their proposed solution, plus $5,000 to attend a global conference to potentially pitch their idea globally.

You must register to attend this event , which will be held in the Pacific Culture Gallery, South Australian Museum, North Terrace, Adelaide.

Timed parking is available on Kintore Avenue and Victoria Drive, Adelaide or there are multistorey car parks not far away either in Gawler Place or North Terrace .
