Looking for something really cool to do? You may love the new ice bar that has recently opened on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy.

It is a sub zero bar and with temperatures sitting at around 10 degrees below zero, right throughout the heat of Summer.

As you enter the Ice Bar, you could be forgiven for thinking you have been whisked off to a different location. The decorations will get you in the mood to feel like you are in the Arctic or Antarctic - perhaps at a lonely base station with only the wireless for company. However, far from being lonely, you will enter through the special door and no matter what time of the year it is, you will enter into a small ice palace.

Upon entering the Ice Bar you will be given the opportunity to get rugged up in Arctic gear, including boots and gloves before you enter into this sub-zero winter wonderland, decorated with great ice carvings. You will slowly acclimatise to the below 10 degrees temperature and then be handed a cocktail or house shot, in a hand created resin or ice glass.

It's a perfect way to end the week with some friends on a Friday night or a fun party night out. You will be surrounded by over 30 tonnes of hand carved ice sculptures and you can even have your photo taken and take this home as a souvenir of your great night out.

If you're looking for something more to do at the Ice Bar, they have games of Jenga and you can even play ball, where instead of a hoop, you throw the ball into an ice carving and it pops out the bottom.

Looking for a unique hens night, bucks night or birthday experience or perhaps a corporate package for team building? The Ice Bar will be a unique experience.

Children are most welcome between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. with the last admission at 6:30 p.m. If your children are under 4 years old, they will enter for free, although, it could be extremely cold for very small children.

Most people will stay for 30 minutes, however, there is no time limit for your visit, so if you need to pop out have a warm coffee and then head back into the Ice Bar, you can still do that on the one entry ticket.

For bookings, through the day, often you can just walk in, but for evenings or holidays it is always best to book - especially for groups.
