There's little doubt that Chiang Mai is a fantastic spot for both vegan and vegetarian food. But there seems to be a tendency for restaurants to only provide mains, some desserts, and non-dairy coffee. But finding vegan ice cream is a little more difficult. Not to say it isn't available - you just have to know where.
There is a nice outdoor area to sit at if the weather allows, but otherwise there's enough space inside too. It has a very casual feel with comfortable sofas and cushions. Just be sure to remove your shoes before entering.
It's a vegan's delight walking over to the freezer just inside the entrance, and having a look at all those flavours. It's rare to find so many - no matter where you source your vegan ice cream - but they definitely don't hold back at Ice Love You.
There are plenty of common flavours - as well as some a little unconventional - and the range tends to change at different times. I personally thought the Banoffee Choc Chip was excellent, on the other hand, the Rum and Raisin was a little unusual for my taste. Some of the uncommon flavours they sometimes serve include Black Sesame and Green Tea.
Only one ice cream is non-vegan - the Cheese flavour, so it pays just to be aware of that. The staff are helpful and friendly, so feel free to ask them if you have any doubts.
I have to say that Ice Love You definitely has the best vegan ice cream I have ever tried. It's wonderfully smooth - something you can't always count on. You can choose to have it alone, or in a waffle cone. If you would like something more decadent, enjoy it as part of a sweet burrito or with roti, and you can even get fresh fruit on the side.

A little off the beaten track, Ice Love You is still very accessible from both Nimman and the Western side of the old city of Chiang Mai. Just head down Suthep Road until you see Thep Sathit Road. A short way down it, you will find Ice Love You on the corner of Srivichai Soi 1, to your left.
