Sydney has a shiny new destination for major concerts and events. was christened by Keith Urban.on Wednesday14 December.



The venue is stylish inside and out. The exterior has a lot of glass, which provides vistas of Darling Harbour and across to Barangaroo. Inside, the decor is mostly black with splashes of red and white. There are bars in each level and the merchandise was sold on the first level. The food outlets sold the usual burgers, pies, hot dogs, fish & chips and wraps and most items were priced under $15.



There were a few teething problems on opening night. The outdoor queuing system to get through security was a bit of a worry considering the impending rain. There was no hot food available on level four and it was quite easy to get lost. At the end of the concert there was an issue with people trying to exit down the escalators and the fire exits were opened to clear the crowd. That being said, there were plenty of friendly staff to assist with directions and I am sure they will work out the access and egress issues with experience.

The ICC was a great place to see Keith Urban perform and it was lovely to sit in a super new clean concert arena. I am looking forward to seeing Human Nature there in February.
