Across the road from Richmond Town Hall and then to your left sits I Love Dumplings, next to Purity Cake Designs and the Chemist Warehouse.
I went there with friends who had been there before and highly recommended it. Unfortunately, we didn't book beforehand and had to wait in line for fifteen minutes. We were then taken through the lower level, where everyone's meals looked delicious, then upstairs to a windowless area that felt like a function room, but it did the job. It's a good sign when a restaurant is this busy and people are still willing to wait.
The chairs were very plush, I liked them but some of my friends didn't. The wait staff were fine and they took down our order and the food came out in an appropriate amount of time - can't complain.
Man, it was worth the wait. We ordered a whole bunch of pan-fried dumplings including pork, chicken and seafood that I all liked except maybe the pork one, but, again, my friends liked it. We also had rice, spicy fish dish and the stir-fried chicken hot pot, which were outstanding.
Prices for main meals range between $15 - $25. For dumplings if you order 6 pieces it will cost $6 - $8 and for 15 pieces it's around $10 - $12. Sharing between everyone is always the way to go at a place like this unless you really like your one flavour of dumplings.
There are vegetarian options available. Book ahead if you're coming for dinner and probably come by public transport because the side streets around the place are now mostly permit zones. Happy eating.
