I Give it a Year - Film Review

From one of the comedic minds behind 'Borat' comes the refreshing new romantic comedy, 'I Give it a Year'.

I Give it a Year' chronicles one year in the life of a newlywed couple, Nat (Rose Byrne) and Josh (Rafe Spall), as they face some unexpected challenges in their marriage after a whirlwind romance.

The film also stars Anna Faris (in a brunette wig and frumpy clothing) as Josh's charity worker ex-girlfriend and Simon Baker as Nat's handsome and exciting new business client. Steven Merchant also features in the film as Josh's awkward and very abrasive best man.

The writers have managed to strike a delicate balance between cringe humour, leaving the audience laughing and squirming in their seats, and sweet romantic scenes. The movie is set in London and the influence of British comedy on the script is clear.

I Give it a Year', though not particularly memorable, is an enjoyable watch and a good flick to see if you just want to pass some time.

I was shocked at how crude this film was, did not expect such juvenile humour.
