'I Dream in Colour' is a fitting name for Samantha Thompson's 12th solo exhibition at Firestation Gallery.This FREE exhibition features a vibrant collection of mixed media works, inspired by whimsical dreamscapes.From graceful swans to elegant women swimming with dragon flies and quirky flying frogs with parachutes, this exotic world presents colour in motion.

The variety of media utilised by Samantha in this stunning collection allows her works to take on an almost dance-like quality. Yet these figures seem to float in isolation, captured as they are in a variety of three dimensional spaces.Using lino, collage and perspex, Samantha has carefully crafted a constantly evolving dream world. This series of organic, layered images are housed in colourful boxes, that begs us for our involvement as voyeurs to her reverie. The layering of this dream world adds sophistication to her already compelling work.

This series of works will be displayed, as is traditional, between 6 and 8 pm on the opening night (Thursday 1 October), along with complementary wine.
