Calling all young artists for Hyper Vision
Each year The City of Swan and the Hyper team organise an exhibition of winning artworks by local young people and this year the theme is '20/20', with works that represent their view on the past 20 years and the coming 20 years.
2013 Entry 'Feathers and Fur' by Madeline Tholen
The exhibition includes digital and traditional photography, fashion and jewellery as well as sculptures and traditional art. Artists entering work will go in the running for category prizes and a major prize of $1,000 donated by Midland Gate.
2013 Entry 'I Cried Because I Had No Shoes by Monique O'Neill
Eligible artists aged between 12 and 25, who live within the City of Swan are encouraged to apply now. Applications close on June 13. Artists entering work will go in the running for category prizes and a major prize of $1,000 donated by Midland Gate.
City of Swan Mayor, Charlie Zannino, said the Hyper Team will also be organising a series of workshops on Thursday evenings inside Midland Gate Shopping Centre during the exhibition. These workshops, run annually as part of the Hyper program, are an excellent opportunity for young people to express their artistic side and have fun," he said. "It never ceases to amaze me what talented people live within the City's boundaries and I am proud of the City's contribution in supporting our young artists."
Entering art work is easy as it is possible to submit artwork online
The exhibition runs from July 7 to 27 and is free.
