Sydney surrounds including NSW South Coast has many options for a quiet weekend getaway. Hyams beach is about two and a half hours south of Sydney on the beautiful Jervis Bay. This small seaside village in Shoalhaven shire is bordered by 3 beaches, Chinaman's Beach to the north, Hyams Beach and Seaman's Beach to the south.

The exceptionally clear waters of Jervis Bay are ideal for fishing, swimming, snorkelling and diving. The sand at these beaches is fine, soft and brilliantly white. The Guinness Book of Records reports Hyams Beach as having the whitest sand in the world.

There are many things to do in Jervis Bay apart from taking a dip in the pristine waters. Snorkelling is a great way to discover the exciting bio-diversity of the marine life that exist in the Marine Park along Hyams Beach NSW. You can take a dolphin cruise to spot playful dolphins or whale watching cruise from the nearby Huskisson village. At the southern end of Jervis Bay is the Booderee National Park's heathlands and beaches.

A stroll along the walking tracks of the beach will lead you to the exciting coves and beaches around such as Chinaman's , Seaman's and Murray's beach, each with its own special feature. You can also try the 2 kms White sands walk from Greenfields Beach to Hyams Beach exploring the sensational beauty of the white sands beaches along the way.

A quaint general store and Cafe is the only commercial business at Hyams but caters for all the immediate needs for a quite relaxed beach holiday.

The white silica beach is indeed amazing but do not forget your sunglasses.
