Tucked down a quiet street in the Melbourne CBD is Hunters' Roots, a brand new cold pressed juice and smoothie bar servicing the local city workers each Monday- Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm.
Located in the newly developing city hotspot called The Archway, you'll find a handful of new small cafes opening up over the last few months and is one of the latest.
What does best is offering an extensive list of delicious smoothies and cold pressed juices. They make their almond milk in-house as well as their condiments like their almond butter and raspberry chia seed jam.
We tried the Nutbush City smoothie with banana, almond butter, brazil nuts, coconut yoghurt and cinnamon and we weren't disappointed. Nutty but not heavy, it's filling enough for breakfast or an afternoon energy boost.
My breakfast companion sussed out the Coco Jambo with raw cacao, avocado, dates, coconut water, coconut ice cream and topped with cacao nibs. You'd think it'd be overly sugary tasting, but it's just the right amount of creamy sweetness that you won't feel guilty drinking it to curb your sweet tooth craving.
The breakfast menu isn't overcomplicated, offering just a few fresh and healthy options. We ordered the dragonfruit smoothie bowl which arrived looking nearly too pretty to eat and chocked full of fruit, seeds and superfood yumminess.
And if you're the simple breakfast type, try out the basic sourdough toast with the homemade almond butter and raspberry chia spread.
isn't a giant of a venue, essentially it's a great place for a takeaway as you head off to or from work or to and from the gym but you'll find a few tables to sit and have a bite if you're so inclined.
There's also some tasty coffee and a dessert case of protein balls and raw desserts for an afternoon treat!
