Sydney has many food and wine festivals but this gourmet event at Hunters Hill is a community fundraiser where all profits go to local community projects. It's also a great chance to buy something for Mother's Day, which is on the Sunday following this festival.

Boronia Park Oval is the location for this annual fiesta that started in 2000 and has been growing ever since. Lots of restaurants and fine wineries participate along with gourmet produce suppliers, gelato vendors, patisseries and cafes.

This year sees the likes of Austrian Schnitzelhaus, Cooks Grocer, Gourmet Sausage Company, Hunter Valley Cheese Company, Master Gozleme, Smoke and Spice, Currong Comestibles, Cavalicious Patisserie and many more while wineries present include Brown Brothers, Petersons Champagne House, Adina Vineyard and Ridgeview Wines.

There's lots of delicious goodies to indulge in as well as cooking demonstrations with chefs sharing tips. Live music adds to the atmosphere and the kids are also catered for with amusement rides.

Only 15 minutes from the city, Bus route 506 to East Ryde stops right at the festival along with Bus route 536 from Chatswood to Meadowbank. If you're arriving by car, no problem as there is ample parking in the streets surrounding the park.

So catch some sun and fun in the park before the cold of winter sets in.
