Hunter Valley Gardens are Australia's largest display gardens and one of the most spectacular places you can visit in the Hunter Valley region. The gardens include over 6,000 trees, 600,000 shrubs and 1,000,000 ground covers. There are over 8km of walking paths that stretch out over 16 hectares.







The area is divided into a number of beautiful gardens, including:
Rose Garden
Formal Garden
Indian Mosaic Garden
Chinese Moongate Garden
Sunken Garden
Border Garden
Storybook Garden
Italian Grotto
Oriental Garden












For children, The Storybook Garden is a must visit, with The Mad Hatters Tea Party, Jack and Jill, Humpty Dumpty and creative life size topiary among the incredible displays.



Hunter Valley Gardens holds several special events during the year, including.

Christmas Lights November - January.

Christmas Lights Spectacular has amazing music and light display plus over a million Christmas lights on show throughout designated areas of Hunter Valley Gardens. The event includes a special visit from Santa, Santa photos, a range of entertainment, food and beverage stalls.





Snow Time July

The formal garden is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a skating rink and a number of fabulous icy experiences including mechanical snow board, snow angels play zone, snow tubing and snow ball challenge.







Opening hours are 9am to 5pm 7 days a week. Allow at least 3 hours to see all the gardens. Cost is $25 for adults and $13 for children. Family passes are also available.

There is plenty of car parking available, also ATM, toilets and first aid centre and a short walk from the Gardens is The Village which is a home to many restaurants and shops as well as a great playground and BBQ area.

You can also play Aqua Golf and Putt Putt Golf, which are lots of fun for adults and children.

With Aqua Golf, you get to hit floating golf balls into a 5000 square metre lake. If your ball lands in a floating target net you will win a voucher to the best Restaurants, Wine Cellar Doors, Hot Air Balloon rides, Golf Games, Bus Tours and most importantly you can win Cash Jackpots

The Aqua Golf Pro Shop has a range of right and left hand clubs for everybody including children and adults. Clubs are free to hire when you buy a bucket of balls. One bucket of balls is only $7 and two buckets are $12.



For those with younger children, you may prefer to play an 18 hole Putt Putt mini golf at the stunning Putt Putt garden. The cost is only $6 for adults and $5 for children.



If you are planning to stay at Hunter Valley, then Harrigans Irish Pub is the perfect family accommodation. The award winning 4-star accommodation features newly renovated guestrooms including 6 suites, some with fireplaces and a second bedroom, as well as 2 self-contained units for families. The property has a great outdoor swimming pool, kids jumping castle and a restaurant which serves delicious meals and also includes a kids menu.
