The Christmas Lights Spectacular returns to the Hunter Valley Gardens spreading the joy of Christmas for an impressive 10th year. And what better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than to walk amongst and admire over two million twinkling lights and illuminations spread over 8km of pathways and gardens.
The biggest light display in the Southern Hemisphere runs from November 3 through to January 27 allowing lovers of Christmas and all things sparkly ample time to pay a visit.
Gates will now open at an earlier time of 5.30pm for the evening light spectacular and a lap around the gardens prior to darkness falling is a wonderful way to firstly, view the stunning gardens and secondly, see the installations in low light before nightfall when they fully come to life.
The route around the Gardens is well marked and when keeping to the designated walkways visitors will not miss any of the displays. Themed areas are many and include iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, a Sydney Harbour Scene and a giant 4m diameter globe. Visitors can wander through the Storybook garden, stroll through the North Pole, sing along to the synchronised Twelve Days of Christmas display and look out for hidden fairies, unicorns, gingerbread men and reindeer amongst the foliage.
Young visitors will marvel at the various lollies and lollipops and the realistic flower and tree installations strewn amongst the grounds will impress. And the grand and majestic 4m tall Christmas tree sits by the lake which is the perfect backdrop for more photographs.
