Range of handmade specialty cheese, yours to taste for free
The Hunter Valley is popular for its serenity and the wines. A trip to the Hunter region is never complete without a stop at a wine cellar for some wine tasting. If you have kids in tow, it would be difficult to justify a wine stop, but the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory is conveniently located next door to the McGuigan Wine Cellars at 447 McDonalds Road, Pokolbin. It features a cheese tasting room and fine food store.

There is a cheese-making tutorial daily at 11am and 3pm for free, and no booking is required. Cheese and charcuterie platters are available all day. There is a range of specialty cheese made on site and available for tasting. If you wish for a private cheese appreciation tasting, you will need to book by ringing (02) 4998 7048.
