Hunter Valley Aqua Golf is an affordable, family-friendly attraction which is located in the Hunter Valley Gardens complex. It is essentially a driving range, where you hit the ball into a large lake and aim for the nets that are positioned on the water, to try and win a prize. The smaller the net - the bigger the prize. Prizes include vouchers to cellar doors, restaurants, helicopter rides, hot-air balloon rides, golf games and cash jackpots.
Our family visited this attraction when we were exploring the shops and cafes outside the Hunter Valley Gardens. We originally went to play the
Putt Putt course, but it was too busy during the school holidays and we saw that the Aqua Golf had some spare tees. The music was pumping out of the speakers, there was laughter in the air and you could tell it was going to be a fun experience ahead. My daughter was excited for us to win a prize - no pressure!

There was a small office at the entrance, where you buy the buckets of balls for $9 a bucket or 2 for $15. The use of the golf club was included in the price. We then found a spare tee and my husband was first up to hit the ball and try his luck, while we sat in the shade to watch the spectacle! The loud, pumping music made for a fun atmosphere and we took turns hitting the balls, avoiding the ducks and hoping to win a prize. Kids, in particular, loved hitting the balls into the water, with multiple families lined up along the back of the tees.
It was also interesting to watch the serious golfers hit their balls into the water aiming for the nets - getting close, but no one got in on our visit. The Hunter Valley Aqua Golf
